New Song Alert…<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Okay… not sure this song is really done, actually. But I’m tired of waiting for the last verse to correct itself, so I’m posting it, anyway, misgivings and all.<\/p>\n

As with any of my songs, no matter how long ago they were written, there’s a pretty good chance the music will evolve — or mutate — certainly, this performance leaves much to be desired. But — anyhow — here it is.<\/p>\n

I told myself
\nlove’s just a lie
\nI told myself
\nI should get wise
\nI told myself
\nbeing kind is just being cruel<\/p>\n

Lookin in my heart<\/span>
\nwas like lookin’ in a well<\/span>
\nand if there was a bottom<\/span>
\nyou couldn’t really tell<\/span>
\nas dark as midnight<\/span>
\nall the way down to hell<\/span>
\none day I looked in<\/span>
\nand then I just fell<\/span><\/p>\n

Then I looked in my soul
\nand I saw that it was empty
\nand I said to myself
\njust like the rest of them
\nand i said out loud
\nfrom here on
\nit’s all ’bout number one<\/p>\n

But I added that up
\nand I factored in forever
\nI subtracted my dreams then
\ndivided that by never
\nWhen I saw the bottom line
\nI sat down — I knew that
\nI was done<\/p>\n

But then I thought to myself

\nand I realized all at once
\nthere’s more than one kind of fool<\/p>\n
